“Eleven”, the latest Tamil-Telugu bilingual crime thriller directed by debutant Lokkesh Ajls, delivers an emotionally intense yet suspenseful ride, anchored by a solid performance from Naveen Chandra.

Released on May 16, 2025, the film dives into a complex world of serial murders, unresolved grief, and moral dilemmas.
Set in the bustling city of Chennai, Eleven follows Aravind (Naveen Chandra), a diligent police officer haunted by his past, who is tasked with investigating a string of mysterious murders. As the case unfolds, Aravind finds the lines between justice and revenge beginning to blur, leading to a gripping final act.
What sets Eleven apart from typical crime thrillers is its emotional core. The film isn’t just about solving murders—it explores how personal trauma can reshape one’s sense of duty and truth. Naveen Chandra, known for his intense roles, delivers one of his most layered performances to date. He balances stoicism with vulnerability, making Aravind a compelling protagonist.
Abhirami shines as Shanthi, a character who adds both emotional weight and narrative intrigue. Supporting performances by Reyaa Hari, Shashank, and Riythvika are adequate, though some roles feel underwritten.
Technically, Eleven impresses. Karthik Ashokan’s cinematography captures the grit and tension of urban crime, while D. Imman’s background score effectively amplifies the film’s darker tones. The pacing, however, falters in the second half, particularly when the film diverts into a romance subplot that feels less urgent.
Despite minor flaws, Eleven succeeds in presenting a grounded, character-driven thriller. It may not reinvent the genre, but it delivers on mood, performance, and purpose.
