Today, we fondly remember Ghattamaneni Siva Rama Krishna Murthy, lovingly known as Krishna, on his birth anniversary. Krishna wasn’t just an actor—he was a revolution in Telugu cinema.
With over 350 films to his name, Krishna was known for his versatility, fearless experimentation, and commitment to pushing boundaries. From mythological epics to thrilling spy dramas, he played every role with conviction and charm. He was a pioneer of the James Bond-style genre in Telugu films and was instrumental in introducing Technicolor, Cinemascope, and the first 70mm format to the industry.
Beyond his cinematic achievements, Krishna was admired for his humility, patriotism, and public service, including his stint in politics. He inspired generations of actors, especially his son Mahesh Babu, who carries forward his legacy with grace and dignity.
Though Krishna garu is no longer with us, his films, vision, and spirit continue to resonate. On his birthday, we honor his contributions and the indelible mark he left on Indian cinema.
